Volunteer
Thank you for your interest in volunteering with SMCS! We are so excited and grateful you are choosing to share your time and talents with us.
All adult volunteers are required to complete a 3-step Safe Environment process – background check, an online training, and sign a code of conduct acknowledgement form. After the initial process, in order to maintain an approved volunteer status, all volunteers are required to complete an annual training and sign the code of conduct form. Background checks must be rerun every four years. For your convenience, these requirements can be completed through Virtus Online. Once you become an approved SMCS volunteer, you could serve at any of our buildings.
Human Resources has been appointed SMCS Local Safe Environment Coordinator (LoSEC) by the Green Bay Diocese. Please direct any questions about this process to SMCS Human Resources.
Report Abuse – Awareity Incident Reporting System
Awareity is a comprehensive platform available to volunteers for reporting, tracking, and documenting incidents and concerns, making it simple and confidential to share red flag behaviors such as:
- Harassment
- Boundary issues
- Threats of violence
- Concerning behavior by clergy, staff, or volunteers
- Misconduct
Anything that you may find stressful or out of the ordinary and feel compelled to bring forward regarding clergy, staff, or volunteers
The goal of Awareity is prevention and to help identify red flags and warning signs before an incident occurs or escalates.
PLEASE NOTE: This is not an emergency reporting system. If this is an urgent matter, immediately dial 911.
All reports can be submitted by using your name or remaining anonymous, if prefer. As soon as a report is made, all of the appropriate personnel will receive an immediate notification of the report, review the report information and take appropriate actions to intervene and/or prevent escalation. You can get to the Awareity site through the Green Bay Diocese website.
